Designers around the world are becoming more knowledgeable about sustainability. The Breadbox Toaster aims to propose an e-waste solution and create an awareness for the ways people should recycle electronics. The toaster resembles the common form of a breadbox and is constructed of recyclable aluminum. The toaster also has an ability to remove the electronics safely for both easy access for repairs and the ability to send the electronics to an e-waste facility. By removing the electronics and mica heating panels the rest of the toaster is recyclable by curbside programs in the United States. The toaster also has a front access panel that does not need to be extremely spring loaded, also it reduces the chance of items falling into the toaster or the user burning themselves.
